Karen Auerbach is a postdoctoral fellow in twentieth-century Jewish history at the University of Southampton. In September she will be a postdoctoral fellow at the Frankel Institute for Advanced Judaic Studies at the University of Michigan and in April 2011 a postdoctoral fellow at Yad Vashem. Her dissertation, ‘A Window on Postwar Warsaw: The Jewish Families of 16 Ujazdowskie Avenue’, completed in 2009 at Brandeis University, focused on Jewish integration and its obstacles in postwar Warsaw through a case study of ten Jewish families. She has taught at Virginia Tech and Brown University as well as worked at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
